#1 Health Care Reform President Obama's sweeping health care reform bill establishes health care coverage as a right for all Americans. It expands coverage to 32 million more Americans while simultaneously reducing the deficit by $1.3 trillion over the next 20 years. It also makes illegal many of the health insurance industry's worst tactics for making more profit at the cost of people's health (including denying coverage for people with pre-existing conditions.)
#2 Successful Economic Stimulus
When Barack Obama took over the Presidency the country's economy was heading straight down due to the distrous policies of George W. Bush. In February Obama signed the stimulus into law and it has helped to stem the job losses. In fact economists say that over one million jobs have either been saved or added due to it.
#3 Eliminating Wasteful Spending
The elimination of the F-22 fight jet program is an example of some of the wasteful spending that Obama has eliminated as President.
#4 Sonia Sotomayor
Obama's first Supreme Court nominee was successful. She became the very first hispanic on the Supreme Court and only the 3rd woman.
#5 Credit Card Reform
The credit card reform bill that Obama signed in May of 2009 has helped to provide new protections for customers.
#6 Stem Cell Research
In May of '09 Obama signed an executive order allowing more federal money to be used for very important stem cell research.
#7 More Successful on Anti-Terrorism Than Bush
Obama launched more attacks on terrorists in his first year than did Bush in the last four years of his Presidency combined.
